KAGU-BLOCK is a multi-use furniture unit designed for the 2010 Tsunami victims who continue to live in prefabricated temporary housings.

CONCEPT

The KAGU-BLOCK is designed to serve two purposes, accessibility and adaptability.   

ACCESSIBILITY: By using easily available and affordable material, with a minimal footprint for maximum units of delivery, the KAGU-BLOCK is designed for simple assembly and for immediate use during a disaster relief situation.   

ADAPTABILITY: The KAGU-BLOCK is designed in a 500mm x 500mm square footprint, which by orientation and linking with other units can serve as a chair, sofa, coffee table, planter box, bookshelf within the temporary housing.  

With time, the KAGU-BLOCKS inherent each and every owner's personality through the varying use, composition, and care.  The furniture unit acts as a vessel to house those forced to live a new beginning.
